Haven's parents are American actors Jon Voight and the late Marcheline Bertrand. His sister is actress Angelina Jolie.
Haven's relationship with Jolie was the subject of controversy after Jolie affectionately kissed her brother when she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the 2000 Oscars. Both siblings have gone on the record as being close, having leaned on each other for support after their parents' divorce.
James Haven and Brad Pitt are reportedly close friends.
James is the uncle of Angelina's four children: Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt, Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt and Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt.
In May 2007 Perez-Hilton.com reported that Haven is dating Christian singer Rebecca St. James, while St. James' website says he is a new "Christian friend".

Career


Although Haven's acting career has not been as high-profile or as prolific as his father or sibling's careers, he has made appearances in several movies, including the 2001 film ''Monster's Ball''. Haven has also appeared in several French films.
He has also appeared in the drama series ''.
Haven studied filmmaking at USC School of Cinema-Television, and while there, won a George Lucas film award for directing a film which featured Jolie. In all, five of Haven's student films included his sister.
Haven was credited, along with his mother and sister, as an executive producer on the 2005 documentary "Trudell", which told the story of Native American poet and activist John Trudell.
Haven also appeared in a role for the movie "Stay Alive" (2006) for a short scene.
