Japanese submarine ''I-58''

'I-58' was a Japanese B3-Type submarine in World War II. She was built in September 7, 1944 at Yokosuka, Japan, purposely to launch Kaiten manned torpedoes. She entered service on December 4. Commanded by Lieutenant Comdr. Mochitsura Hashimoto (1909-2000) she was responsible for sinking the USS ''Indianapolis'' on July 30, 1945. She was scuttled off Gotō Islands, Japan on April 1, 1946.
