JEAN-LOUIS BORLOO
'Jean-Louis Borloo' (born 7 April 1951 in Paris within a Picard family) is a French politician, and currently the French Minister of Ecology and Sustainable Development and Planning.
Borloo began his career as a lawyer in the 1980s. He became president of the Valenciennes Football Club. In 1989, he was elected mayor of Valenciennes. On 21 July 2005 he married news anchorwoman Béatrice Schönberg at Rueil-Malmaison, Hauts-de-Seine.
He is a member of the Union for a Popular Movement and, as of 2005, co-president of the Radical Party, alongside André Rossinot.
He recently introduced a five-year plan of "social cohesion", which is centered around three axes: "equal opportunity, housing and employment".
From May 18 to 19 June 2007, he was Minister of the Economy and Finance in the François Fillon cabinet. Since 19 June he has been the French minister of State for Energy, Ecology and Sustainable Development.
