JEFFERSON HOLT

'Jefferson Holt' is the former manager of rock band R.E.M., from 1981-1996. He was reportedly fired over a sexual harassment case that was settled out-of-court.[1] Under the name Vibrating Egg, he recorded a solo single on Dog Gone Records, which included Mike Mills on bass.
Holt is referenced in the 1985 R.E.M. song "Can't Get There From Here" ("lawyer Jeff he knows the low-down"), and also in the song "Little America," from 1984's ''Reckoning'' album. The song's (and album's) last line, "Jefferson, I think we're lost," was changed to "Washington, I think we're lost" when the song was revived and played live by the band in 2003 and 2004.
