JESSE SHEIDLOWER


'Jesse Sheidlower' (born August 5, 1968) is an author and editor specializing in English linguistics and lexicography. From 1999 until 2005 he was a Principal Editor at the Oxford English Dictionary; since 2005 he has been Editor-at-large, focusing on North American usage.[1] He is a frequently cited expert on slang and changing usage in the U.S. His book, ''The F-Word'', was published by Random House in 1995.
Sheidlower received an undergraduate degree in English from the University of Chicago and did graduate work at Cambridge University in the Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic. [2]
