JOHN FANNING
'John Fanning' was the founding Chairman and CEO of Napster. He founded the company with his nephew Shawn Fanning. He owned 70% of the company and represented the founders on the board of directors. He currently lives in Hull, Mass, and enjoys waterfall-kayaking. Fanning was an early internet entrepreneur, founding chess.net, an internet chess server running a modified version of the Internet chess server software, in 1996.[1] Currently, Chess.net, as NetGames, is part of the portfolio of NetCapital, a small private equity firm.[2] Fanning is the Chairman of NetCapital.
