'John Ross Sanchez Gamboa', popularly known as Joross (born November 28, 1984), is a famous Filipino actor and a member of ABS-CBN's elite circle of homegrown talents called Star Magic.

Early life

Joross Gamboa was born in Bicol, Philippines. He has two siblings and the eldest of Renato Gamboa and Monette Sanchez. Whilst studying high school at St. James Academy, he was a member of the basketball varsity team. He pursued a computer science degree in De La Salle University-College of Saint Benilde but later transferred to Global City Innovative School of Nursing. He temporarily stopped studying after entering Philippines show-business.

Star Circle Quest

Joross Gamboa gained his popularity when he first appeared in the first season of ABS-CBN's Star Circle Quest. Throughout the competition, he always stood out due to his comedic antics and laid back pretty boy attitude. He was hailed by Lauren Dyogi, one of the judges, as the next leading man.
He was paired up with fellow Star Circle Teen Questor Roxanne Guinoo and their pair was dubbed "JoRox" (a combination of their names). Joross Gamboa successfully entered the final 5 or "Fab 5" of SCQ.

After Star Circle Quest

Soon after SCQ, different offers started coming. His first project, together with the nine other finalists of SCQ, was SCQ Reload, wherein he played Joross Pimentel, a hopeless romantic guy who fell in love with Roxanne Roxas in the series.
After SCQ Reload, he was casted in movies like ''Can This Be Love'' and '''D Anothers'' He also starred in the drama series ''Gulong ng Palad'' opposite Roxanne Guinoo, who is also his co-host in the reality lifestyle show ''At Home Ka Dito''.

Personal life

Joross Gamboa's friendliness to several people was most of the time misinterpreted by the press and he was caught up in several controversies but his positive attitude didn't let it get to him.
For almost three years of working together, Joross Gamboa and Roxanne Guinoo got very close together which ended up in a romantic relationship. Unfortunately, their relationship ended after more than a year of being together. Both claimed that despite of what had happened, they are happy to remain friends and also happy to work together in the same projects like in Sineserye Presents: Natutulog ba ang Diyos?
Currently, Joross is in a steady relationship with his new girlfriend, Karysheila Mae, a commercial model in Malaysia. He also went back to school and is taking up a Degree in Mass Communications.
