'Junius Spencer Morgan' (April 14, 1813 — 1890) was an American banker and financier, born at West Springfield (now Holyoke), Massachusetts.

He began his business career in 1829 by entering the employ of Alfred Welles of Boston.
From 1854, he was partner, with George Peabody, in the English banking house of George Peabody & Co. Ten years later, he succeeded Peabody as head of the firm and changed its name to J. S. Morgan & Co. He was also the father of the more famous John Pierpont Morgan.
In 1836, he married John Pierpont's daughter, Juliet. From about 1836 to 1853, he was in the dry-goods business. He contributed money to Trinity College, Hartford. At his death, he left a fortune estimated at about $10,000,000.
