JUSTIN PIERRE
'Justin Pierre' was born May 26 1976 and is the witty frontman for the band Motion City Soundtrack. Originally, Justin is from Mahtomedi, Minnesota, USA. He formed the band (Motion City Soundtrack) in 1997 with friend (Joshua Cain) .[1] In addition to being the lead singer, Justin also plays guitar and is the primary lyricist for the band. He is noted for his pronounced sideburns, wild hair, and glasses (which are made by the company "Kirk Originals"). In webisode 7 for "Even if it Kills Me" he says his middle name is Cornelius, however his real middle name is Courtney.
Justin has had serious drug and alcohol problems in the past, which have almost led to the break up of the band. Since 2004, he has been, for the most part, sober with few relapses. With the help of his band mates, it is hoped that this trend will continue, for his own personal good, and the good of the band. Motion City Soundtrack is planning to release their third album on September 18 2007 entitled ''Even If It Kills Me'', and fans have very high expectations for the release to follow the success of 2005's ''Commit This to Memory''.
Justin is an anime fan and was seen wearing a Cowboy Bebop t-shirt during autograph signings at the Vans Warped Tour in San Francisco on July 8 2006. He suffers from asthma (he has to use his inhaler on stage). He enjoys filmmaking, and makes short films. He went to college for film, but never went as far to receive his degree.[2] He now works on independent short films while at home, recording, and on tour. His most famous is titled "Karen" and was in a few film festivals early winter and spring 2007, including the the 3rd annual Griffon International Film Festival (GRIFF). [3] Justin also co-directed the music video for "Big Drag" by Limbeck.[4]
In addition to singing for Motion City Soundtrack, Justin has sung guest vocals on Fall Out Boy's "Chicago Is So Two Years Ago"[5], Small Towns Burn A Little Slower's "Alias: The Beekeeper"[6], and is thought to have been heard singing numerous times on the Limbeck CD "Hey, Everything's Fine".
