JYESTHADEVA
'Jyestadeva' (ജ്യേഷ്ഠദേവ(ന്)) (1500-1575), was an astronomer of the Kerala school founded by Madhava of Sangamagrama and a student of Damodara. He is most known for authoring a commentary ''Yuktibhasa'', the first calculus text of the world. This work was unique at the time for its exacting proofs of the theorems it presented. He also authored the ''Drk-karana'' on astronomical observations.
