KKZN
'KKZN' (760 AM) is an Air America Radio affiliate licensed to Thornton, Colorado and targeting the Boulder, Colorado area. Known as "Boulder's Progressive Talk", the station went on the air in August of 2004 and carries a number of progressive talk show hosts from both Air America Radio and other companies. These hosts include Thom Hartmann, Ed Schultz, and Randi Rhodes. The station also broadcasts University of Colorado basketball and football during their seasons. One of the most popular shows on KKZN is ''The Jay Marvin Show'' hosted by local talk show host Jay Marvin. Duning the morning show, Marvin covers both national and state level news and politics.
Besides broadcasting progressive talk shows, KKZN also runs what it calls a Blue List. This list includes companies that support progressive causes and interests. The station also sponsors progressive events throughout the Colorado Front Range, such as events for the ACLU and other progressive organizations.
Before adopting a progressive-talk format, this was all-sports "760 The Zone," from which the station's call sign is derived.
