KAMRAN AKMAL
'Kamran Akmal' (born 13 January, 1982 in Lahore) is a Pakistani cricketer who has played 22 Test matches and 44 ODIs for Pakistan. He is a quick-scoring batsman and tidy wicket-keeper, who nevertheless has only achieved four centuries and two fifties in 31 Test innings. However, his first century was vital - his 109 from the number eight position at Mohali, coming in with Pakistan in a lead of 39 against India in the first Test, ensured that the visitors could draw the match. Recent form against England has made him one of the most important players in the team. Naturally, he is a batsman that plays lower down the order but is willing to has recently opened in One-day games. As an opener he has scored 2 back to back centuries in ODIs against England. Coming lower in the order in Test matches, he played inning to be remembered. He saved Pakistan from score of 39/6 to a competitive 245 which helped Pakistan win the match and series. Akmal has the talent and since the fading of Moin Khan, and Rashid Latif, he will been seen in Pakistan Cricket for a while. Akmal also enjoys support from coach Bob Woolmer, and captain Inzamam-ul-Haq.
His batting has been highly productive recently, with seven international hundreds in the last 16 months, encompassing both Test and ODI cricket.
Akmal's brother, Adnan Akmal also plays professional cricket as a wicket-keeper.
