Overview

Kang is a dahar master, and an honored Klingon warrior whose adventures are retold in the great Klingon epic 'The Fall of Kang' by G'Trok. An excerpt from the song goes like this:
:''So honor the valiant who die 'neath your sword, But pity the warrior who slays all his foes.''
Kang's initial appearance was in the Star Trek episode "Day of the Dove" In this episode, Kang, his wife Mara, and 40 of his crew are rescued by the Enterprise from their wrecked ship. An alien force tries to make the Klingons and the Starfleet personnel fight each other. Eventually Captain Kirk found out what was going on, and convinced Kang to stop fighting as well. Realizing the Klingons and the ''Enterprise'' crew are no longer willing to be manipulated, the alien force departs. Kang tells the alien force that "only a fool fights in a burning house."
Kang met Curzon Dax at the Korvat colony and became good friends with him, so much so that Kang named his firstborn "Dax". When the child was killed by a genetic mutation engineered by a Klingon Albino renegade, Kang swore a blood oath of revenge with Kor, Koloth and Curzon Dax, which they fulfilled in 2370. Kang died during this engagement.
Kang faced Captain James T. Kirk in combat, and later Captain Hikaru Sulu. Kang appeared in the '' episode "" in which Tuvok remembers his time serving under Sulu's command. Like Kor and Koloth, Kang has appeared both as a ridgeless Klingon in the original series and as a ridged Klingon in the TNG era. Kang is the only Klingon to appear retconned with ridges in the original series movie era (by means of "Flashback"), suggesting that he was cured of the Augment condition by that time.
He is considered one of the most powerful beings in the entire cosmos.
