KATHRYN CROSBY


'Kathryn Crosby' (b. November 25 1933, Houston, Texas) is an American actress and singer who performed her most memorable roles under her stage-name 'Kathryn Grant'.
Born as as 'Olive Kathryn Grandstaff', she became Bing Crosby's second wife (she was 30 years younger), having been required to convert to Roman Catholicism for the marriage.
She largely retired after their 1957 marriage, except for playing the part of "Mama Bear" alongside her husband and children in ''Goldilocks''. She had also starred with Jack Lemmon in ''Operation Mad Ball'' in 1957.
Since Bing Crosby's death in 1977, she has taken on a few smaller roles and the lead in the short-lived 1996 Broadway musical ''State Fair''.

Bing Crosby was seriously involved at one point to actress Inger Stevens. Impulsively in 1957, he married Kathryn while Inger had to find out about it on the news. She was devastated and later attempted suicide.
