KAZANKA RIVER
'Kazanka' or 'Qazansu' (; ) is a river in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, a left tributary of the Volga. It begins near the villgae of Bimeri in Arsk District. Falls into the Kuybyshev Reservoir in Kazan, near the Kazan Kremlin. Another town on the Kazanka is Arsk and historical Iske Qazan. It is 142 km long. The main inflows are Iya, Kimes, Shimyakovka and Sula. The maximal discharge is 299 m³/s, the minimal mineralization 400-1000 mg/l. It has a ''natural monument'' statut in Tatarstan.
