'Keelung Islet' is a small island located at the northern shore of
Taiwan. It is approximately 960 meters in length, and 400 meters in width. It is roughly 6 kilometers away from the city of
Keelung.
In ancient times, the island was seen as a sacred place by locals. It was rumoured that a female ghost name Shih-Yun lived there, to mourn over her husband who died in a shipwreck hundred of years ago. In modern day, the islet is primarily as a military training base. Since 2001, it had been opened for tourists. Ferry service to the island operates daily from the port of Keelung. There is a smallport and a walkway on the island. The island is also a popular for local fishing industries, due to the richness of fish it attracts in its surrounding sea.
