SHORELINE SCHOOL DISTRICT
(Redirected from Kellogg Middle School)
The 'Shoreline School District' is the school district in an established residential community north of Seattle and includes the cities of Shoreline and Lake Forest Park in the U.S. state of Washington. Families new to the Puget Sound region settle in the area reportedly due to the quality of its schools.

Shoreline has had strong support with bonds from the community. Voters strongly supported it in 1984, 1988, 1994, and every year for the past three. Additionally, a new bond was passed in 2006 that awards millions of dollars for a Laptop-technology integration program at the high, middle and elementary school level (for Echo Lake grade 4, 5, and 6). High School Students were given a Apple MacBook for an insurance of $70. All other students were given an Apple iBook G4 for $60 Insurance.
All Shoreline elementary schools serve grades kindergarten through 6.
North City Elementary School and Sunset Elementary School, each of which enrolled approximately 375 students, were closed at the end of the 2006-2007 school year. As of August 2007, it was not yet known how the distribution of these students throughout the school district would affect the enrollment at other schools.

The school district implemented a ban on all "Gay/Lesbian" content on the internet in the early 2006-2007 school year after distributing laptops to every student for educational purposes. The ban existed to prevent students from using the laptops to view "Gay/Lesbian" content. This ban blocked sites such as pflag.org and many websites that were needed for lessons in US History to Senior Connections.
The Gay Straight Alliance at Shorecrest High school fought this ban and tried to bring this discrimination to the eyes of the public. When the noticeable Shorecrest High school paper did an expose on the story the district removed the ban and claimed no wrongdoing whatsoever.
