KEYINGHAM

'Keyingham' is a village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The village is located approximately 10 miles east of Kingston upon Hull city centre and lies on the A1033 road.
According to the 2001 UK census, Keyingham parish had a population of 2,302.

Features

A horticultural nursery which covers an area almost equal to that of the village is located to the east. The biggest of the nurserys is owned and run by the Delang family. Also located to the east are sand and gravel pits along with numerous small lakes. It also features a field just outside the village consisiting of the bull like creatures known as Highland Steers.
The parish church of St Nicholas is a Grade I listed building.

Schools

Currently the village has one primary school which caters for the pupils of both the former infant school and junior school. It is located in the buildings of the former junior school. This is a temporary measure until the term beginning September 2007, when a new primary school (Keyingham Primary School) will have been built on the site of the former infant school.
