Location

Kilmacrennan is 7 miles from Letterkenny on the N56 which is the largest town in County Donegal. The main road joining Kilmacrennan to Letterkenny is currently being upgraded which should bring the journey time down to less than 10 minutes.

Rivers

Two rivers flow through the village, the Lennon and the Lurgy. Traditionally the river Lennon was renowned as an excellent river for fishing salmon however the salmon numbers have dropped dramatically in recent years, most anglers blame pollution for this.

Facilities

There are 3 pubs in the village: The Village Court, The Anglers Haven and The Millbridge, a post office, a SPAR supermarket and filling station, a hairdressers and a fruit and veg stall located at 'the cottages'. There is also a restaurant/takeaway located in the centre of the village along with food menus available in the local bars. There are 2 churches in the Village: a Catholic Church and a Church of Ireland. There is also a Presbyterian Church in the townland of Leiter about 2 miles from the village. Work has also recently began on the long awaited new National School, which is currently being built across the road from the Catholic Church and current school.
Notable natives include Michael Cardinal Logue.
