KIRK BRANDON
'Kirk Brandon' (born 3 August 1956, Westminster, London) is a British musician.
Brandon's music career started in 1978, in Clapham, South London, with the formation of The Pack, of which he was the singer/songwriter.
The Pack consisted of Brandon, alongside Scottish born drummer Rath Fae Beith and two Canadian brothers, Simon and Jon Werner on guitars. The last live gig by The Pack took place at the sold out 101 club in Clapham.
From the embers of The Pack arose Theatre of Hate, which in turn became Spear of Destiny. Theatre of Hate had their largest hit from the ''Westworld'' album and the single "Do You Believe In The Westworld?", which was a UK Top 40 single in 1982, while the album made the Top 20.
In 2003 Brandon did a solo tour as support to The Alarm on their Poppyfields tour. This included some new material played on an acoustic guitar with electric pick up, as well as some material from his time with Theatre of Hate and Spear of Destiny.
In 1995, in his autobiography ''Take It Like A Man'', Boy George wrote of his relationship with Brandon, prompting Brandon to begin a High Court action against George.[1] George, taking the witness stand, faced a "malicious falsehood" charge brought against him by Brandon, now married and a father, who denied that he once had a sexual relationship with George. Brandon lost. During the trial, George had claimed that Brandon had been the love of his life and that he still loved him. [2]
Brandon wrote a song called "Stone in the Rain" about Kurt Cobain's death.
