KJARTAN POSKITT

'Kjartan Poskitt' (15 May, 1956 - ) is an author and TV presenter who is best known for writing the Murderous Maths children's series of books. However, he has also written a ''The Knowledge'' book entitled ''The Gobsmacking Galaxy'', a ''Dead Famous'' book about Isaac Newton named ''Isaac Newton and his Apple'' (referring to the apple that supposedly hit Newton on the head giving him the idea about "Gravitas") and an ''Alternative GCSE Guide'' book called ''The Alternative GCSE Guide to Maths ''. He has also written ''The Magic of Pants'', and is currently writing a book called ''A Brief History of Pants''. He also wrote the ''Killer Puzzles'' book series.
He also wrote the theme tune for the children's art program SMart
He has been a presenter for a number of (mostly BBC) educational children's TV shows, more recently including The Maths Channel; along with David Sanford and Daniel Grosvenor.
Poskitt was educated at Collingwood College, Durham University
Most recently Kjartan has written the first in a new series of children's novels called Urgum the Axeman. This character was previously created in his Murderous Maths range and is the last of the barbarians, truly fearless and equally insane. The second in the series is released in September 2007.
