'Konispol' (
Albanian: ''Konispoli'') is the southernmost town in
Albania. It sits 1 kilometre away from the
Albanian-
Greek border.
The town's main interests are
farming,
agriculture and
viticulture and the majority of the town's 3500 residents are all of them 99.9 % indigenous Chams. Konispol is the only
Cham town inside the borders of Republic of Albania.
Κοnispol Caves
In
1992, 7
caves were discovered just north of the town. They dated from the
Upper Paleolithic age to the
Iron Age.
