'Krohn Racing' is a professional
sports car racing team competing in the
Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototype class.
The team was formed in
2005 as a partnership between longtime sports car owner Kevin Buckler's
The Racer's Group organization and
Tracy Krohn. In 2006, Krohn split from TRG to run the team as an independent operation. Two DPs are run from the team's stable, both
Ford-powered Riley chassis. The No. 75 is piloted by Krohn and
Niclas Jönsson while the No. 76 is driven by
Jörg Bergmeister and
Colin Braun David Bradham Peter Cox and
Kyle Petty at the Crown Royal 200 at the glen. While the 75 team had a dismal season, the 76 team won 3 races and Bergmeister clinched the 2006 Grand-Am DP Driver's Championship.
For 2007 the team will switch to Pontiac power. The #76 Riley will be driven by Colin Braun and Max Papis, while Nic Jonsson and Tracy Krohn will drive the #75.
In 2006 Krohn reached an agreement with Petersen/White Lightning racing to run a
Porsche 911 GT3-RSR at the
24 Hours of Le Mans. Krohn will continue with a similar agreement with Risi Competizione for 2007, running a
Ferrari F430 not only at Le Mans, but also at the Sebring, Houston, Salt Lake, Petit Le Mans, and Laguna Seca rounds of the
American Le Mans Series with Jönsson and Braun. This partnership would lead to the Krohn run Ferrari finishing second in their class at the
2007 24 Hours of Le Mans.
