Sensual Seduction
Had to. Really had to. Sensual Seduction (Sexual Eruption) by Snoop. For y'all holy people, change the lyrics to "Sexual Reduction" and jam out. [This'll have to do until the tutorial is done properly] Ok, the song is in the key of Eb (or you could call it D#, but I'll just go by flats). The fingers I use are in parentheses next to the notes, just to make things easier. Remember, fingers are numbered 1-5 from thumb to pinky on both hands. Notes/fingers in brackets are optional. The beginning 4 chords for this song were neglected on this video, but this is as I hear it: LH: (4)Eb,(3)Gb,(2)Bb,(1)Db RH: (1)Gb,(2)Bb,(3)Db,(5)F LH: (4)Bb,(3)Db,(2)F,(1)Ab RH: (1)Db,(2)F,(3)Ab,(4)C LH: (5)E,(2)B,(1)E RH: (1)Ab,(2)B,(3)Db,[(4)Eb],(5)Gb LH: (5)B,(3)Eb,(2)Gb,(1)Bb RH: (1)Eb,(2)Gb,[(3)Ab],(4)Bb,(5)Db Then, you repeat the same chords an octave higher. Keep the left hand chords going as accompaniment, then the melody goes Bb,Db,Eb, F,Db,Bb,Ab (rest/sustain) B,B,B,B,Bb,Gb,B (rest/sustain) Bb,Db,Eb, F,Db,Bb,Ab (rest/sustain) B,B,B,B,Bb,Gb,Bb Once you get this part, you'll figure the rest out. Any further questions, feel free to message me--or wait for the tutorial :)

Fauré's Nocturne Op. 36 No. 4
I have never played any work by Fauré before, and I began to learn this piece two months ago (had one lesson with my teacher on it), only because it's a required piece for the Oberlin competition: http://www.oberlin.edu/con/summer/piano/default.html Just so you know, my initial pushing the small rug away was because it was 90+ºF outside and the tile felt cooler. Haha. If I were my own competition: ~0:30s - Decent opening, but l.h. maybe a bit more harmonious—not so pronounced, esp. lowest note. Shape melody more 1:00 - too climactic L.H. 1:12 - too much! 1:23 - good l.h. run ~1:30s - Again, shape melody more—don't be so "notey" 1:53 - don't lean towards central chord in L.H.; go to end 2:11 - maybe a bit less pronounced at first? 2:26 - don't stop emphasizing long melody (but maybe that's because of the slip-up) ~2:46 - don't let harmony overpower long melody (at least at first, until more dev'd) 3:05 - l.h. don't accent so much - melody always emerging clearly above harmony! 3:20 - EXCELLENT run & transition (maybe rit. even a bit more for more impact) ~3:35s - Wonderfully executed slight acceleration & rubato 3:58 - too strong ending for l.h. 4:04 - always proceed to top 4:05-6 - brilliant transition! 4:25 - don't rit. so much 4:38 - careful; keep middle melody pronounced 4:46 - rit. even a little more in L.H. 5:39 - excellent rit.! 5:50 - don't rush l.h. or emphasize bottom so much 6:09 - connect melody better (softer second note) 6:20 - not so abrupt ~6:25 - steadier run 6:42 - good transition 6:51 - maybe l.h. a bit, but don't enhance r.h. harmony alongside melody 7:19 - quieter (but still maintain 'surprise' effect) Good ending.
