LAFLèCHE, QUEBEC

'Laflèche' was the name of a former city on Montreal's south shore. It was a suburb of Montreal.

History


Originally called 'Mackayville', it was established in 1947 at the same time as neighbouring Ville Jacques-Cartier using a piece of land belonging to the Saint-Antoine de Longueuil Parish. It changed its name to 'Laflèche' on March 5th, 1959. It later merged into the former city of St. Hubert in October 1971.

Geographic Location


It is located to the northeast of the older section of Greenfield Park, northwest of the newer section of Greenfield Park, west of the rest of Saint-Hubert, south of Vieux-Longueuil. It is bordered by Boulevard Taschereau, Autoroute 30, Boulevard Kimber and Rue Soucy.
