LAKE TUGGERANONG

'Lake Tuggeranong' is an artificial lake in the Canberra district of Tuggeranong. The lake was built in 1987 coinciding with urban development in the district. The lake was built as a sediment trap to stop sediment from entering the Murrumbidgee River.
The lake is a popular recreational site. The foreshore of the lake is parkland, with swimming, fishing, wind-surfing and non-motorised boating all possible activities on the lake. A bicycle path surrounds the lake. On the edge of the lake is the Tuggeranong library, Lake Tuggeranong College and the Tuggeranong Arts Centre.
