'Lawrence (Larry) R. Goldfarb' (born November 21st, 1958 in Queens, New York City, NY) is an American hedge fund manager and currently the CEO and founding partner of the LRG Capital Group LLC. Mr. Goldfarb has over twenty years of expertise in investment banking, trading, and law. Larry is an avid skier and tennis player, as well as an accomplished jazz pianist

Mr. Goldfarb grew up in the outer boroughs of New York City and attended Forest Hills High School, where he was a member of the high school band and frequently starred in musicals. After high school he attended George Washington University and earned a B.A. in International Economics, graduating in 1981. Then he was a student at Georgetown University Law School where he was regularly published in the Georgetown Law Journal. He graduated in 1984, cum laude.

Recognized as one of the leading experts on making direct investments in both private and public companies, Mr. Goldfarb began his career as a tax attorney for Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy and subsequently became a tax analyst with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where he specialized in financings, mergers and recapitalizations.
Afterwards Mr. Goldfarb moved to San Francisco, California and joined Credit Suisse First Boston Corporation as a Partner and Director of the Mergers and Acquisitions Group. In 1998 he formed BayStar Capital Management, LLC, a vehicle in which he could fund growth oriented, small capitalization, and publicly traded companies. Currently he is the founding partner and CEO of LRG Capital Group in Larkspur, California.
Mr. Goldfarb regularly speaks at both national and international private equity and hedge fund conferences and events, including the 4th Annual Global Absolute Returns Congress [1], the Australian Pensions and Investment Summit, and the Building Billion-Dollar Companies in the Bay State [2].

'Philanthropy'


Mr. Goldfarb serves as a Board Member in several charitable and non-profit foundations such as Ambassadors of Hope and Opportunity [3] and the Blue Bear School of American Music [4]. He also continues to be a major contributor to The Lower Eastside Girls Club [5], FIRST [6][7], and the Scleroderma Research Foundation[8].

Mr.Goldfarb owns the LRG Racing team [9] which competes in the American Federation of Motorcyclists[10] and other racing clubs.
Mr.Goldfarb is a guest lecturer at business schools around the country, including Columbia University and Berkeley.
