LEAGUE OF CONSERVATION VOTERS

'The League of Conservation Voters' is a nonpartisan American independent political voice for the environment. LCV's mission is to "advocate for sound environmental policies and to elect pro-environmental candidates who will adopt and implement such policies." [1]
LCV publishes the ''National Environmental Scorecard'' [2] to educate the public about key environmental issues and inform people about the environmental voting records of their members of Congress. LCV's National Environmental Scorecard is the best known congressional environmental scorecard.
In addition to tracking voting records and endorsing or opposing candidates, the group contributes to and participates in political and election campaigns.
LCV informs people about members of Congress who are pro-environment through their "Environmental Champions" list.[3] particularly anti-environmental members of Congress through their "Dirty Dozen [4]" campaign. LCV strongly opposes many of George W. Bush's policies that they believe adversely affect the environment.
