LEE BREUER

'Lee Breuer' (born 6 February 1937) is an American theater director and playwright. He is a founding member and an artistic director of the avant-garde theatre company Mabou Mines, based in New York City. He has directed over thirty plays including ''The Gospel at Colonus'', ''Mabou Mines Dollhouse'' (which won an Obie Award for Best Director), ''Peter and Wendy'', and ''Mabou Mines Red Beads''.
Through the deconstruction of classic texts, he joined the ranks of New York experimental theatre directors of the 1970s, helping to create a postmodern theatrical style. He is among such company as Richard Foreman, JoAnne Akalaitis, and Elizabeth LeCompte.
