LENNARD PEARCE


'Lennard Pearce' (February 9, 1915- December 15, 1984) was an English actor who mostly worked in theatre. He gained world fame with the role of Grandad in BBC sitcom ''Only Fools and Horses''. Pearce studied drama at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, in London. Lennard was also a notable trilby wearer.
Pearce died of a sudden heart attack at the age of 69 during the production of the ''Only Fools and Horses'' episode "Hole In One" – the episode was moved to later in the series, and scenes he had filmed on location prior to his death were re-shot with Buster Merryfield as the replacement character Uncle Albert.
Other appearances include a role in the 1966 BBC ''Wednesday Play'' ''Cathy Come Home'', directed by Ken Loach.
