![]() | SBST Volvo Olympian 3 Axles SBS Transit ordered 470 Volvo Olympian 3 Axle 12 Metre Double Deckers delivered from 1994 - 1998. The first 201 Volvo Olympians came with Walter Alexander-Royale Bodywork with round headlights while the rest of them recieved a modified version of the bodywork with rectangular headlights. The buses were known as 'Superbuses' during their service in white-red Superbus livery untill the rebranding of SBS Transit in 2001, where they recieved the current white with red and purple design livery. They are found vastly in SBS Transit's network and could be seen anywhere in Singapore. The demostrater unit, SBS9200G is on service 111 today and thus, named it the first Olympian under the Volvo name after Volvo's takeover of Leyland. The Olympian series was launched by Leyland in the 1980s and it was a sucessful model with major orders to Singapore and Hong Kong with heavy use in Britain alone. After the takeover of Leyland by Volvo in 1990, the Olympian line was still in production and the last 200 Leyland Olympians rolled off the production line with the Leyland badge to be delivered to Singapore. After that, Volvo took over the Olympian line of buses and renamed it Volvo Olympian. These buses are used heavily in Singapore, UK and Hong Kong till today. We will take a ride on a Volvo Olympian making it's way through a winding estate road and a certain section along the world-renowned Orchard Road. |

![]() | Sage TXL Series - Leland Gear Guide The TXL Fly Rod Series is the second in the Sage lineup to incorporate the use of Generation 5 Technology of graphite placement, and what a fly rod series it is! The TXL finally offers the fly angler both precise line control and, to borrow a Sage term, "fish-ability", in a true ultra-light fly rod series. We were skeptical when we heard about these short rods in little itty-bitty line weights, but knowing the Sage design team, we withheld our opinion until we fished these little beauties. Well, as usual, Sage has succeeded. They've designed 000 to 4 weight rods (that's right, a 000 weight!) under 8 feet that cast like bullets, yet fish like bamboo fly rods! These smooth casting fly rods are designed for tight fishing conditions, small tail-outs and pocket water where long casts are not the norm, but line and fly control is required! These tiny fly rods are perfect for casting small to medium flies and protecting the thinnest of tippets, even on big fish.
