LINDA BERGKVIST
'Linda Bergkvist' (b. September 5 1977 Umeå, Sweden) is a Swedish illustrator and digital fantasy artist. Known as 'Enayla' on several online art communities, Bergkvist is drawn towards illustrating dark fairy tales, focusing on the unnatural and unreal.
Bergkvist won two Master awards in Ballistic Publishing's book "Exposé I" and afterwards co-authored "d'artiste: Digital Painting" with three other leading artists[1]. Other publications under Ballistic include "Exposé II", "Exposé IV", "Exotique", and "Exotique II". Limited edition prints of her work were included in the Special Editions of Exposé IV and Exotique. She is the first and only artist to be published in the "Ballistic Masters" poster book series[2]. She has been planning a dark fairy tales book that will feature her paintings and also be published by Ballistic Publishing, but has not yet announced when the book will be finished.[3]
After her success in Expose 1, Bergkvist became a prominent member and Forum Leader of the online art forum CG Talk. In 2003 she was featured in an interview on CG Society's main site and in 2005 she was featured in CG Talk's ''"Meet the Artist"'' [1] forum where she participated in a week-long Q&A session. Her work is actively used by CG Society for promotional purposes.
A painting entitled "My Lady" was featured on the cover of the August 2006 issue of ImagineFX magazine, which featured an interview and a workshop on painting a "believable figure" in Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter with a Wacom tablet. Bergkvist also worked as a conceptual artist for the film Golden Compass[4].
