Wayland

'Wayland' first appeared in Timothy Zahn's ''Heir to the Empire'' novel. The planet was home to the Emperor's Mount Tantiss storehouse, which contained a cloaking device and cloning chambers that Grand Admiral Thrawn used in his war against the New Republic. Wayland was also home to the insane clone of the Jedi Master Joruus C'Baoth. The Mount Tantiss storehouse was eventually destroyed and C'Baoth killed.
Wayland is the homeworld for the Psadan and the Myneirshi.^{[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]}

Woteba

'Woteba' is a fictional planet from The Star Wars universe. It is in the Utegetu Nebula at the edge of Killik territory. It is discovered when the Millennium Falcon is forced to land there to fix a mysteriously damaged coolant line.
Originally planning to give the planet to the homeless Ithorians, they are forced to give it to the Killiks to prevent them going to war with the Chiss. The Hapan fleet helped the Qoribu nests move to Woteba.
A year later Han, Luke, Mara, and Leia are called back to Woteba by UnuThul. They find the world devastated by a mysterious plague known as the Fizz. Because the Killiks blame this disease on the Jedi, Han and Luke stay behind to find the cause while Leia and Mara bring a sample to Ossus. They discover that it is an environmental defense agent used to protect against foreign material. The Killiks attempt to evacuate the system but are stopped.

Wroona

'Wroona' is a small blue world in Wroona system, located on the far edge of the Inner Rim in the Rayter Sector. The planet's continents are separated by vast oceans, and their blue-sand beaches stretch for thousands of kilometers. The near-human inhabitants of Wroona, numbering over seven billion, are a blue-skinned species with a lighthearted and optimistic outlook on life. Their society emphasizes materialism and personal gain, and Wroonian merchants, smugglers, and pirates can be found throughout the galaxy pursuing their personal wealth. Their impulsive nature can be summed up by the ancient Wroonian folktale of Master Fate, a being who capriciously blows the winds wherever he pleases. Wroona is run by the Wroonian Guilds, groups that represent all the various trade organizations and businesses, and the planet's primary starport is located on the coast of its largest ocean. Animal life on the world includes Wroonian flycatchers, which hang from coastal cave ceilings by their tongues and swing down to catch their avian prey. The region of space known as Keller's Void acts as a shortcut between the Wroona and Calus systems.
Thousands of years ago, Wroona's civilization was centered around the seafaring trade. The inherent dangers of the sea helped contribute to Wroonians' fearless nature, and the unstable governments of the many coastal kingdoms also contributed to their distrust of authority. Wroona has long been a member of the Old Republic. Many years ago, a band of armored raiders utterly destroyed Wroona's spaceport and killed many, until stopped by the Jedi Knight Soonis. Later, during the rise of the Empire, the Imperials decided to take advantage of Wroona's tactical location. The Empire built a garrison on the surface, appointed an Imperial governor to run the trade guilds, and erected the Wroonian Stardock, a massive resupply and repair facility in close orbit, used only by capital ships too large to land on the planet. After the Battle of Endor, the Wroonians successfully revolted, deposing the Imperials in favor of the leadership of the Wroonian Guilds. Wroona remained independent from the New Republic, becoming a haven for smugglers and mercenaries.
Senator Chi Eekway and Baron Papanoida, both seen briefly in '', are Wroonian.

Xa Fel

'Xa Fel' is the capital world of Kanchen sector. It was a centerpiece of action during the Thrawn campaigns five years after the Battle of Endor. It was owned by the Kuat Drive Yards company for a very long time, and this badly polluted the entire planet, such that it is a virtual wasteland now. Following the Thrawn campaigns, a few raids were made on the planet by the Invids pirate group, led by Leonia Tavira and her Jensaarai Force-sensitive allies.

Xagobah

'Xagobah' is a planet in Sluis Sector. Xagobah's surface is covered with enormous mushrooms that can grow to be over 300 feet tall. Much of the actual surface is unexplored because of its harsh and often carnivorous ecosystem. The few inhabitants of the planet have created communities atop the giant mushrooms. Because of some unique gases in the atmosphere, Xagobah's skies have a orange tint during the day. This also affects the lighting of the planet. The further an object is from you, the darker it seems to be. Xagobah was the site of a major battle in the Clone Wars. It was also the home to one of the Techno Union's main factories.

Xeaus

'Xeaus' (Zōs) is a densely populated Mid Rim world located in a system near the border with the Hapes Consortium. Xeaus was colonized by humans some time in the distant past. There is evidence to suggest (namely ruins) a pre-colonization alien civilization existed on Xeaus, but went extinct for unknown reasons, possibly in a large meteor shower that left the planet covered with large craters. It is in these ancient craters where all but one of the planet’s major cities were built during the colonization (the other, the capital city of Edra, is built on a peninsula in the Salvo Sea.) Xeaus is a temperate planet closely resembling Earth, except that the planet’s core has cooled over millions of years and it lacks desert. The planet is surrounded by a thin system of rings and is orbited by three small moons, one of which is home to the Tansion Station, a mining facility owned by Lando Calrissian.
Up until the year 37 BBY and after the Xeautian Civil War, Xeaus was controlled under a benevolent monarchical system called Tarm. The leader of Tarm, the Depha, was elected by a sixteen member council called the Tarma (which served as a co-governing body with the Depha and was popularly elected) and served for life.
Throughout the time it was a member world of the Galactic Republic up until 37 BBY, Xeaus was an economically prosperous and politically stable planet. In the year 37 BBY, the Tarma elected one of its own, Faro Ti-Velaqqa, as Depha to replace the disgraced monarch Lamoa So-Ta, who had become embroiled in a series of corruption scandals. Ti-Velaqqa, unbeknownst to the rest of the planet, spent the first year of his reign building alliances with powerful generals and politicians within several government ministries, especially the Ministry of Defense, which was controlled by the Tarma and oversaw the military.
On a quiet morning in 37 BBY, Faro Ti-Velaqqa carried out a swift and decisive coup d’etat against the Tarma. The sixteen councilors were all quickly murdered by a contingent of Ti-Velaqqa’s own personal security force. With the backing of the military, he abolished the council, established himself as a dictator, and proclaimed the formation of the Xeautian Imperium. The event shocked many around the galaxy, as they had seen Xeaus as a model of peace and stability. They were further shocked in the ensuing weeks as Ti-Velaqqa’s ability to maintain control gradually collapsed. The dictator had failed to anticipate the large resistance he would face to his rule. Within weeks, the military was stretched the breaking point attempting to maintain order on Xeaus. A number of rebellions broke out which gave rise to many powerful warlords, who attempted to establish their own kingdoms across Xeaus.
Although Xeaus’s senator in the Galactic Senate, Siekko Sul-Dakka, appealed to the body to intervene in the crisis, the Senate eventually voted not to intervene, mostly because the Republic did not have military force substantial enough to establish order on the planet. After this failed, Sul-Dakka appealed to organizations such as the Trade Federation and the Commere Guild for help, but they too refused.
By the year 35 BBY, Faro Ti-Velaqqa’s Xeautian Imperium was reduced to a small area around the capital city of Edra. Three armies converged on the capital city, resulting in a bloody battle that resulted in the destruction of much of the capital and the death of Faro Ti-Velaqqa. His death ignited a civil war on Xeaus that continued until well into the Galactic Civil War (1 ABY), by which time the warlord Tark managed to unite the war-torn planet.
Tark reestablished Tarm and retook control over Xeaus’s colony planets, including Saako. The Tarma was reestablished and Tark stepped down as dictator, seeing the futility of trying to rule the planet as a dictator. Just a few months prior to the Battle of Yavin, the Tarma elected Tark as the first Depha of the New Tarm. During his reign, which lasted until 20 ABY, the planet spent much of its time rebuilding from the civil war. Almost 70% of the planet’s cities had to rebuilt, especially Edra, which took nearly fifteen years to rebuild to its former glory.
Today, Xeaus is still recovering from the Xeautian Civil War, though much of the wounds have healed. A solemn memorial was built outside the palace of the Depha in Edra to commemorate and honor the millions of people who died in the war. The opening of the memorial in 15 ABY was attended by many influential people, including Mon Mothma, Leia Organa-Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Admiral Ackbar. Xeaus is also the home of Jedi Master Aaska Ren-Turro.

Yag'Dhul

'Yag'Dhul' was the site of a Rogue Squadron orbiting base for training before the Battle of Thyferra. It was taken by the Yuuzhan Vong during their invasion. It is the home planet of the skeletal Givin species, who are capable of surviving in a vacuum—this is because the planet is at the mercy of atmospheric tides which leave part of it exposed.

Yalara

'Yalara' is a planet visited in whose planet was once harnessed by Jedi Master Broden Kel Verdox to power a cloaking device. Darth Vader found the hidden planet and sent many Noghri to kill the native Yalarans that were guarding the device, and take their place. In Jedi Academy Jaden Korr destroys the cloaking device which has fallen into the hands of the Disciples of Ragnos.

Yanna

'Yanna' is a planet located in the Yapor System in the Colonies region of the galaxy. It is a commercial and trading hub along the important Rimma Trade Route near Fondor. It is inhabited the native Yannans, a reptilian humanoid race known for their cunning.

Yavin

'Yavin', seen in '', is an orange gas giant. Its core is composed of metallic substances and pieces of carbon and metallic hydrogen that form corusca gems. Although mining these gems is a promising venture, Yavin is mostly known for its moon of Yavin IV. The Super Star Destroyer ''Knight Hammer'' was destroyed here after it was diverted towards the planet's core after a collision with a rebel vessel. It is rumoured that the sith, Darth Maul, was from this region.

Moons

In the Expanded Universe, Yavin has four other habitable moons.

★ Yavin IV, the site of the Rebel Alliance's main base until the Battle of Yavin. It also contained the Massassi Temples and for a time the Sun Crusher. Once Luke Skywalker re-establishes the Jedi Order, Yavin 4 is also the planet on which his Jedi Academy (Praxeum) is located.

★ Yavin 8, a moon consisting mostly of tundra and some species.

★ Yavin 13, a hot desert moon populated by Gerbs and Sliths.

Yinchorr

'Yinchorr' is an ancient and remote world strewn with ruins from the species that used to live there, before they were slain. After their demise, the Empire used the now-harsh and desolate planet as a training center for the Imperial Guards. ^[11]

Ylesia

'Ylesia' is located in Hutt space in the Outer Rim. It plays minor roles in the Expanded Universe, particularly Ylesia e-book.
The planet is covered with shallow seas, resulting in many swampy areas, broken by three continents and numerous island chains. The northernmost continent is situated near the north pole of the planet, while the other two are located along the equator. The planet, rotating quickly in a ten hour day, has very strong wind currents in all layers of its atmosphere.
The planet was advertised as a religious colony and drew thousands of pilgrims. Once there, the pilgrims were indoctrinated into the cults by the t'landa Til, a species related to Hutts. T'landa Til males are able to produce empathic vibrations which have the effect of basically forcing any particular emotion on an unwitting recipient. The t'landa Til used the daily Exultation ceremony to addict the pilgrims to their "feel-good vibes." Once addicted to the Exultation, the pilgrims were used as slaves in the spice processing plants. The operation was run by Besadii, a clan of Hutts led by Aruk the Hutt.
Han Solo, operating under the alias Vykk Draygo, got his first piloting job running spice for the Ylesia operation. Solo was given a bodyguard, a Togorian named Muuurgh, who was working as a guard for the Hutts in order to earn money to continue his search for his mate. Muuurgh was supposed to spy on Solo and make sure he stayed in line. On Ylesia, Solo met and began to fall in love with a slave girl, a fellow Corellian named Bria Tharen. He was able to convince Muuurgh to effect a rescue of both Bria and Mrrov, Muuurgh's mate, who was also a slave in the spice factories. Solo, Bria, Muuurgh, and Mrrov laid waste to the High Priest's palace and robbed his treasure room before making their escape. Later, Bria Tharen got involved in the fledgling Rebellion and convinced Solo, now a smuggler, to help her and her Rebel squadron raid Ylesia, free the slaves, and rob the planet of all the treasures and spice to help fund the Rebellion. Solo enlisted the aid of his fellow smugglers, including Lando Calrissian, with a promise that the smugglers would receive a portion of the loot from the raid. Immediately prior to the raid, Bria received orders from her superiors to seize all of the treasure, for the Rebellion was desperate for funds. Once the planet was seized, the Rebels turned on the smugglers and cut them out of the treasure. The smugglers blamed Solo, for he was the one who had brought them into the operation. It was this situation that led Calrissian to turn his back on his friend Han Solo, and it was this situation that was referenced by Chewbacca in The Empire Strikes Back when the Millennium Falcon is heading for Cloud City and Solo says "I'm sure he's forgotten all about that."
The planet later became the capital of the Peace Brigade under the Yuuzhan Vong invasion.^[12][13]

Yuuzhan'tar

'Yuuzhan'tar' is the Yuuzhan Vong homeworld and the capital of their Empire. Old Yuuzhan'tar was destroyed during the Cremlevian War, resulting in the moon M-18, later known as Zonama Sekot, taking off on its own. The Vong began a conquest 45 years in the making to take over the galaxy, resulting 2 years later in the New Republic being driven out of power and Coruscant being vong-formed into New Yuuzhan'tar. After 3 years, the New Republic (now the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances) defeated the Yuuzhan Vong Empire and took back Coruscant. A peace treaty was signed on the planet by both factions that ended the War.

Zaloris

'Zaloris' is a desert world. The first AT-AT walker was invented there. It formally declared its independence during the Rebellion Era, but Lord Vader denied the request and proceeded to liberate the AT-AT facilities as well as crush the militia and Rebels there. It was governed by Minister Trans Decar, and features in the video game Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds.

Zhar

''Zhar'' is a planet located in the Cadavine Sector. It has two primary moons, ''Gall'' and ''Kile''. This planet is notable for after a fight with ''IG-88's ship, ''Boba Fett'' and his ship ''Slave I'' was crippled. The bounty hunter then landed on the Imperial moon ''Gall'' for repairs. Also a temporary base for Rogue Squadron was set up on this planet's second moon, ''Kile''. It is mostly a lush green world but with a major oil and resource supply. Lightsaber crystals are found in the deep caverns below the surface of the planet.

Ziost

'Ziost' is an ancient world made up entirely of an ancient dark forest. Not only was it the focal point of the Dark Side but it is also rumored to be the planet where Lord Sidious allegedly first appeared. It was the heart of the Old Sith empire, after the failures of Naga Sadow during The Great Hyperspace War. Its destination has been forgotten in recent times, due to the secrecy of the newer Sith Lords. Many ancient and evil secrets remain in this place of great dark power.
The existence of Ziost is reaffirmed in the latest Star Wars novel, "Betrayal". Jacen Solo encounters a student of the Sith, Shira Brie, who entices him into studying the secrets of the Sith in greater detail in order to fully realise his destiny. She tells Jacen that she had been discovered as a Force-sensitive by Darth Vader and had studied the secrets of the Sith in the Sith citadel on Ziost. With lots of echoes of the history of Jacen's grandfather, Anakin Skywalker, Jacen is tempted to study the lore of the Sith to understand its greater secrets.

Zolan

'Zolan' is the homeworld of the Clawdites. This half-land, half-water planet gets thunderstorms approximately eighty-five percent of the time. The Clawdites sell off rare minerals found on their planet. Zam Wessel is a Clawdite native who frequently joined Jango Fett in his hunts, largely by accident.

Zonama Sekot

'Zonama Sekot' is a sentient planet capable of traveling through hyperspace. It is a peaceful world known for its fast and organic starships. The living world was also a seed of the original homeworld of the extragalactic Yuuzhan Vong, which was destroyed in a devastating civil war. Zonama Sekot plays an important role in the ''New Jedi Order'' novels, for it harbors the long-forgotten secrets of the Yuuzhan Vong.
The planet first appeared in the novel ''Rogue Planet'', which was set during the time of the Old Republic. Obi-Wan Kenobi and his apprentice Anakin Skywalker travelled to Zonama Sekot to purchase a starship and to find fellow Jedi Vergere. The Jedi eventually learned that Zonama Sekot had been attacked by the Yuuzhan Vong after its inhabitants refused to give them one of their organic ships. The attack was stopped when Jedi Knight Vergere offered herself to the Yuuzhan Vong in order that the living world not be harmed. Zonama Sekot was later attacked by Tarkin, a Republic commander at the time. In response, the living world unveiled its massive hyperspace system and fled into the Unknown Regions.
Years later, after the Yuuzhan Vong captured the capital world Coruscant, Luke Skywalker, Mara Jade and Jacen Solo, along with several Jedi and droids, traveled into the Unknown Regions to find Zonama Sekot. In ''The Final Prophecy'', the Executor Nom Anor, disguised as Yu'shaa, the leader of the underground Jeedai heretics, attempts to destroy the living world. Later, in ''The Unifying Force'', Zonama Sekot travels to Yuuzhan Vong-held Coruscant (renamed Yuuzhan'tar) and welcomes the Yuuzhan Vong "home" revealing itself to be a moon from their primordial home world that fled when then Yuuzhan Vong became warlike and were stripped of the Force by the original Yuuzhan'tar. Taking the remaining Yuuzhan Vong the planet then returned to Unknown Regions. A Jedi representative was stationed there during the Killik crisis and the Vong have adjusted to peace somewhat.

Z'trop

'Z'trop' is a tropical world noted because in the book ''Mission from Mount Yoda'', Han Solo, Princess Leia and a few companions vacationed there.
