The following are common 'sub-genres of pornography'. This list may not be comprehensive, as there are many genres of pornography. Pornographic films may include elements of more than one genre.
The two main distinctions of pornography are between 'softcore' and 'hardcore' pornography.
★ 'Softcore pornography' generally depicts naked or partially clothed women in alluring poses, but does not show sexual activity, including sexual penetration.
★ 'Hardcore pornography' depicts graphic sexual acts. Most of the genres in this list are of hardcore pornography.
★ 'Mature' pornography features performers who are in their 40s and 50s and in some cases over 60.
★ '' pornography, which stands for ''Mothers I'd Like to Fuck'', features older women in fantasy scenarios with younger men.
