This is a list of
presidents of the
Czech Republic. The President is the head of state of the Czech Republic. Most of his powers are ceremonial. His strongest power is
veto, he can return bill back to parliament. His veto can be overruled by parliament. He is elected by parliament for a five-year term, not more than twice in succession. If a new President has not been elected by the end of a President's term, some powers are moved to Prime Minister, some are moved to Head of the Chamber of Deputies.
