 | Belconnen - towers 2 & 3 These were two of the 600ft towers at Belconnen Naval Transmitting Station in the north-west suburbs of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, that have stood since 1938. They supported the top-loaded vertical antenna of the 44kHz VLF transmitter. They came down 4.07pm, on Wednesday 20 December 2006. Here are the central and eastern towers collapsing. Each tower had three sets of three guys going to different heights on the towers. One set of guy wires (three separate guys) was cut by explosive charges, and the weight of the remaining two sets of guys pulled the tower down between them. |

 | salt water dummy load 3 salt water dummy load 3 for cb radio. finished and working properly. first swr was 1:1 and that is a little low. 1:2-1:5 is ideal. i basically doubled the amount of salt the 2nd time through. this dummy load acts as an antenna to check radios but does not allow transmit any further then 200 feet. the funny thing is, most cb radioers don't even know about this experiment. enjoy -dave schiebe |
