LONGFELLOW MOUNTAINS
The 'Longfellow Mountains', named after the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow in 1959, are an interrupted mountain range in the state of Maine, running from western Maine, north of Fryeburg, Maine to the east of Maine. They are part of the Appalachian Mountains and geologically regarded as a part of the White Mountains. The highest peak of Maine, Mount Katahdin, is a part of the range.
