History
The station has free parking, with 190 spaces, with congestion at the parking lot requiring that an extension be built less than a year after the station originally opened.[2] This extension was opened on 30 April 2007. The mayor of the town even admitted that more parking was needed although the extension had recently been built;[3] the next phase of expansion involves building 120 new spaces. On 10 May 2007, Yvette Williams, a commuter from Los Lunas, became the Rail Runner's 400,000th passenger.[4] Just two months after that ridership milestone, on 5 July 2007, the 500,000th rider milestone was achieved by Shawna Anderson, another commuter from Las Lunas.[5]
