Manzano was born to Filipino actors Vilma Santos and Edu Manzano. He studied at the De La Salle University's College of Saint Benilde in Malate, Manila, majoring in Hotel and Restaurant Institution Management. His step-father is Philippine senator Ralph G. Recto of Batangas.
