LUKE JACKSON (AUTHOR)

'Luke Christopher Jackson', a
British musician, became famous at the age of 13 when he wrote a book
from first-hand experience about what it is like to have Asperger syndrome.
The book, which had the title
'Freaks, Geeks and Asperger Syndrome: A User Guide to Adolescence'
created a sensation and greatly increased general awareness of the condition.
It is better known within the Asperger's community than the media, that the book created some pain and its "sensation" was not universally popular because of not publicising this fact. The link between Asperger's and an ability to write books in childhood had also been experienced by child authors whose chance to complete books had been cruelly unfairly ruined by the actions of adults in their lives, significantly by school homework pressure.
Luke Jackson has three sisters and three brothers.
One of his brothers, Joe, has AD/HD
(Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder),
and another brother, Ben, is autistic.
Luke Jackson, his mother Jacqui Jackson, and the rest of their family
were featured in a documentary on BBC2 (UK television)
discussed on the
BBC website.
Luke also recorded a column for BBC Radio 4's programme ''Home Truths''.
