'Lynemouth' is a village in Northumberland, England. The village is situated 3 miles North East of Ashington, on the bank of the River Lyne from which it takes its name. The village of Ellington is located to the north west. The villages' location was decided by its close proximity to coal mines.
Lynemouth and the surrounding industrial area played a massive part in the feature length docudrama Seacoal film about the seacoalers that make a living form collecting waste coal form the beach.
To the south of the village is the Alcan Lynemouth Aluminium Smelter and power station.
