M/V CHELAN

The 'Chelan' is a Issaquah 130 Class ferry in the Washington State Ferry System. In 2005, she was upgraded to meet the SOLAS, or Safety Of Life At Sea, standards. This allows the 'Chelan' to be certified to make the crossing between the United States and British Columbia. Several months after being upgraded, the only other WSF vessel that carries the certification, the 'Elwha', suffered mechanical issues and is predicted to be out of service until February 2007.
As of mid 2007, she is serving the Sidney-Anacortes, Washington route.http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/schedules/current/index.cfm].
