MC-21

The ''MC-21'' (dubbed the MS-21 during design)' is a proposed series of three, twin-engined short-medium range, Russian aeroplanes capable of carrying 130-170 passengers. It is being jointly developed by Ilyushin, Tupolev and Yakovlev and could enter service in 2012.

Design


The initial model is planned to have 33% composite materials on launch, increasing to 40-45% if a composite wing is added in 2015. Engines will be Russian made.

Variants


MC-21 100

Base model, carrying up to 132 passengers. Similar in size and capacity to the Boeing 737-600 and Airbus A318.
MC-21 200

Capable of carrying 156 passengers, equivalent to the Boeing 737-700 and the Airbus A319.
MC-21 300

Capable of carrying 174 passengers, equivalent to the Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A320.
