MACRO-Gê LANGUAGES

'Macro-Ge' (also spelled 'Macro-Gê', 'Macro-Je', and 'Macro-Jê') is a medium sized language stock proposed for South America, centered around the proper language family.

★ 'Gê-Kaingang' (16 languages in two branches: Kaingáng [18,000 speakers], and Gê proper languages such as Xavánte [8000 speakers])

★ 'Botocudo' (Krenak)

★ 'Chiquito-Borôro' (4 languages in two-three branches. Chiquitano [20,000 speakers])

★ 'Jeikó' [extinct]

★ 'Kamakán' [extinct]

★ 'Karajá'

★ 'Karirí' [extinct]

★ 'Maxakalí'

★ 'Ofayé' (Opaye)

★ 'Purí' [extinct]
