History

Built in 1999, it is owned by Simon Properties. There are five sections to the mall. Each section is divided and decorated to reflect the five natural regions of the state. They are Mountain, Piedmont, Atlanta, Plains, and Coastal. The Atlanta section is mostly the large Food Court with its barrel vaulted roof, reminiscent one of Atlanta's old rail terminals, Union Station. There is a Regal Cinemas with Stadium Seating and Imax Theater on the third floor.[1]

Outdoor Village

A unique area where you have streets and stand alone stores all in a controlled area. This area just off the food court is where the popular outdoor entertainment area as well as several restaurants are located.

Unique Features

The statue atop the mall is of Button Gwinnett, for whom its location of Gwinnett County is named. It is also part of Mill Creek, Georgia, a master-planned, 500-acre (2 km²) community that combines residential and commercial facilities with an 87-acre (350,000 m²) nature park. Mill Creek is not a city or town, just a community within Buford. The Nature Center, which is off Pluncketts Road, is located close to the mall.

Location

The mall is located off of Interstate 85 (exit 115) and Buford Drive (Georgia Highway 20).
