Solubility
Manganese carbonate is a very slightly soluble carbonate. It is sparingly soluble in warm acids and saturated K2CO3. It may dissolve in other chlorides and sulphates but usually this involves the formation of MnSO4.
Toxicity
Manganese poisoning, also known as manganism, may be caused by long-term exposure to manganese dust or fumes. The symptoms resemble Parkinson's and are similar to Lead Poisoning but may not appear for months or even years after exposure. There is no cure for manganism.
Uses
Manganese carbonate is widely used as an additive to plant fertilizers to cure manganese deficient crops. It is also used in health foods, in ceramics as a glaze colorant and flux, and in concrete stains[1].
