MARIPOSA, RIO RANCHO, NEW MEXICO

'Mariposa' is a master-planned community that will be located in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, in the United States. It will encompass 6500 acres (26 km²) of land recently anexed by Rio Rancho. High Desert Investment Corporation will be the primary developers of Mariposa.

Mariposa East will be the first phase of the large-scale development. In approximately 1500 acres (6 km²), it will hold 1700 residential units and the Mariposa Community Center.
Mariposa West will be the second phase of the project. In approximately 3000 acres (12 km²) it will hold 5000 units. Additionally, Mariposa West will have considerable commercial space.
The development will also include a great deal of open space, especially the Mariposa Preserve, a 2300 acre (5 km²) tract to be located north of Mariposa East.
