:''This article is about the author and journalist. See Martin Dillon for the musician, operatic tenor, and professor of music''
'Martin Dillon' is an author and journalist from Ireland. He worked for eighteen-years at the BBC and has written a number of plays and novels, but he most well known for his non-fiction books about the north of Ireland conflict.
He gained particular acclaim for his book on the Shankill Butchers, although this and other works on terrorism lead to him receiving death-threats from a number of terrorist groups, resulting in Dillon emigrating to France and later to the United States. He has also written books about the loyalist paramilitary Michael Stone and SAS founder Paddy Mayne.
Currently he lives in New York with his wife.
