'Mary Carroll High School', or 'Carroll' as it is often referred, is one of five secondary schools that are part of the Corpus Christi Independent School District.

History


As of August 2007, Carroll high school employs the only woman to serve as superintendent within the Corpus Christi Independent School District. Opened in 1957, it is currently the second largest and the third oldest high school in the city.

Carroll's operating budget for the 2005-2006 school year was $12,151,016.00. Their attendance rate for 2003-2004 was 93.8%.[2]

Mary Carroll's ethnicity distribution for the 2004-2005 school year was 56.6% Hispanic, 32.8% White, 6.2% African-American, 4.0% Pacific Islander, and .4% Native American.[2]

Carroll Band


''Our Alma Matter'' and ''Our Fight Song'' are played at every football game, basketball game, and pep rally.
The band, as of August 2007, are directed by Joseph Rosales, Lori Koch and Roland Chavez. [7]
The Carroll band is currently the largest of CCISD, reaching numbers of 160-170 members.
Carroll band has won several first-place awards in marching, concert, and sightreading.
Mr. Ferris Arnold retired as band director in 2006. He held the position for 38 years.
