MARYLAND ROUTE 193
'Maryland Route 193' is a roughly 26-mile-long east-west state highway through Montgomery County and Prince George's County in the U.S. state of Maryland. It serves a number of communities in those counties, including College Park, Greenbelt, Langley Park, Silver Spring, and Kensington.
Route 193 is called University Boulevard (named after the University of Maryland, College Park) from its western terminus to its junction with U.S. Route 1 (Baltimore Avenue) in College Park; Greenbelt Road from its junction with Route 1 to Maryland Route 450; and Enterprise Road from Route 450 to its eastern terminus in Upper Marlboro. Route 193's intersection with U.S. Route 29 (Colesville Road) in Silver Spring is informally known as "Four Corners".
Route 193 crosses the Capital Beltway (I-495) twice--once in Greenbelt, and once in Silver Spring. Other major junctions are with Route 1 in College Park, with Maryland Route 650 (New Hampshire Avenue) in Langley Park, with Maryland Route 97 (Georgia Avenue) in Glenmont, with Maryland Route 201 (Kenilworth Avenue) in Greenbelt, and with the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (Route 295), also in Greenbelt.
Route 193 once extended south along Connecticut Avenue, which is now Maryland Route 185.
